About Me

Marcus moved to Austin in 2000 from El Paso, TX. He immediately fell in love with the city and its vibe. When not working, you can probably find Marcus doing yard work, spending time with his better half Marian, their Miniature Schnauzer, Maggi (yes, without the “e”), their newborn baby girl Madeleine, or perusing the aisles of Home Depot. Marcus is an avid fan of all things Longhorns and can be spotted at several Longhorn sporting events throughout the year.

University of Texas

Marcus graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. While at UT, he was an active member of Phi Kappa Theta, the Hispanic Business Students Association, and the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association. Upon completion of his degree, Marcus began working as an SLP-Assistant at From the Heart Therapy under the supervision of Martha Adams.

University of Texas at El Paso

Marcus earned a Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology degree from the University of Texas at ElPaso (UTEP). While at UTEP Marcus participated in several research studies involving bilingual language acquisition and mild TBI (concussions). Additionally, Marcus was the Clinic Coordinator for the Concussion Management Clinic, served on the Executive Council for the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and was awared the honor of being selected as Grand Marshall for the Graduate School of Health Sciences.

PROMPT Certified Instructor

After completing the PROMPT Certification, Marcus was invited to become an Instructor for the PROMPT Institute. Marcus travels extensively, teaching the PROMPT treatment methodology to speech therapists all across the country. Marcus also serves as a mentor for speech therapists looking to achieve the status of PROMPT Certified therapist.

In 2013, Marcus purchased MLee from his long time mentor and colleague Martha Adams. Today he is proud to continue to the tradition of providing Austin with high quality, compassionate services. Marcus is dedicated to upholding the high standards of service that he has grown to know and love at MLee Therapy.
