Carlleen Snikeris

Carlleen Snikeris, MOT, OTR

Carlleen (Carly) is a registered and licensed to provide pediatric occupational therapy in Austin, TX. She is originally from Arizona but moved to Texas where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Business Administration from Baylor University. She then earned her master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She is certified through NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) and TBOTE (Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners).

Carly has received training in the Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI) Method and Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention. She is trained to use The Print Tool and is currently completing her Level 1 Certification for Handwriting Without Tears. She has completed her Certification in Sensory Integration including administering and interpreting the SIPT (Sensory Integration Praxis Tests). In addition, she has experience using the Alert Program – How Does Your Engine Run and Zones of Regulation, and has taken continuing educational courses on sensory-based feeding aversions and vision screening/vision rehab therapy. She is a certified IM (Interactive Metronome) clinician and an approved iLS (Integrated Listening System) provider. Carly is currently a member of AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association) and TOTA (Texas Occupational Therapy Association).

She has experience working with children with gross/fine motor delays, praxis/motor planning, sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorders, genetic disorders, oral motor and feeding difficulties, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and with dysgraphia/various difficulties with handwriting. Carly likes to use a child-led, therapist-guided treatment approach in order to work towards goals in a multisensory, fun and playful environment. Carly believes every child is unique and deserves an individualized plan of care catered towards each child’s interest in order to optimize functional independence. It is her goal in life to make a difference in a child or family’s life every day. Carly enjoys living near downtown with her husband and experiencing all that Austin has to offer.
