Carolyn Jones, MOT, OTR
Carolyn received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. After her undergraduate work, she gained pediatric experience at Dell Children’s Medical Center, Leander Independent School District and in home health where she was inspired to pursue pediatric occupational therapy. She graduated with honors with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. In St. Louis, she spent a Level II Fieldwork at Memorial Hospital working with patients recovering from orthopedic procedures and neurological disorders, such as spinal cord injury and stroke, in the inpatient rehab setting.
While she has worked with both adults and children, her first love has always been working with children. She spent an additional Level II Fieldwork at Hazelwood Early Intervention Center providing Early Intervention to a variety of children, including those with Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, and sensory processing disorder. She enjoys working with children in groups and one-on-one to improve fine and gross motor delays, praxis/motor planning, visual-motor and visual-perceptual skills, self-care skills, and sensory processing.
Recently, Carolyn received training in the Handwriting Without Tears in both the Pre-K and Elementary school curriculums. It is her goal in life to bring wholeness of participation to children who face barriers in their childhood occupations- she is very excited to be living in Austin and working at MLee!
