Deepa lived in the Austin area for most of her life until she graduated from the University of Texas in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After college, Deepa pursued a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA but quickly discovered that she enjoyed working with people (particularly kids) rather than microorganisms. It was her passion for helping kids achieve their full potential that lead her to a career in Physical Therapy. She received her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in December 1999 from Washington University in St. Louis.
Deepa has been a practicing Pediatric Physical Therapist since April 2000. Prior to moving back to Austin in June 2014, she worked at Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown, NJ in the outpatient clinic as well as the pediatric intensive care unit and acute care settings. She has also worked in Early Intervention, Home Care and Long-Term Care facilities. She has extensive experience and knowledge treating children with torticollis, developmental delays, complications due to prematurity, Cerebral Palsy (mild and severe disabilities), Erbs Palsy, Down Syndrome, and many rare genetic disorders.
Deepa loves being back in Austin and enjoys exploring the city with her husband and twin daughters.
