About Me

Being back in Austin has been an adventure exploring old and new sites, parks and restaurants with her twin daughters and husband. Deepa loves to travel and try new cuisines. Cooking is a passion of hers and hopes to incorporate all her recipes in a book one day.

Bachelor of Science

University of Texas

Deepa lived in the Austin area for most of her life. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Biology. She then decided to pursue a Doctorate in Microbiology. Deepa quickly discovered that she enjoyed working with people (particularly children) rather than microorganisms.

Master of Science in Physical Therapy

Washington University in St. Louis

In 1999, Deepa’s passion for helping kids achieve their full potential lead her to pursue a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis.

Work History

Pediatric Physical Therapy

Deepa has been a practicing Pediatric Physical Therapist since April 2000. Prior to moving back to Austin in 2014, she worked at Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown, NJ. She has worked in various pediatric settings throughout her career such as Early Childhood Intervention, Outpatient, Inpatient (ICU and acute care), Home Care, and Long-Term Care facilities. She has extensive experience and knowledge treating children with torticollis, developmental delays, coordination disorders, complications due to prematurity, Cerebral Palsy (mild and severe disabilities), Erbs Palsy, Down Syndrome, and various other genetic disorders.

Professional Growth

Deepa strives to continue to learn and grow professionally. She has completed courses and trained in Level 1 Cuevas Medek Exercises (CME), NDT courses, Kinesiology Taping, MNRI Archetype, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), and many other courses to treat sensory, coordination and developmental disorders.
