Janel is originally from El Paso, TX. She’s lived in Austin for over 20 years! Janel loves listening to live music, yoga, and spending time with her hubby and their 2 yr-old daughter. When not working, Janel searches for new and fun local adventures to experience with her daughter!

Pediatric Speech Therapy
Throughout her 17 year career, Janel has always worked in multi-disciplinary clinic settings. Working closely with Occupational and Physical Therapists has facilitated Janel’s deep understanding of the importance of a holistic and integrative approach to treatment.

Janel is one of the few PROMPT Certified therapists in the state. She is also trained and/or certified in Hanen, Floortime, iLS, Interactive Metronome, SOS feeding approach, and Social Thinking
Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences & Disorders
University of Texas
Janel graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with High Honors. While at UT, Janel gained a wealth of experience working with children which fueled her passion for working with this population.
Master of Science in Communication Disorders
University of Texas at Dallas
After spending 3 1/2 years as a licensed Assistant in Speech-Language Pathology, Janel entered into the graduate program of Communication Disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas. She graduated in 2006 after receiving extensive training in child development and speech and language disorders.
